The Language of Love
Artist: Kaia
Area: Holistika, Tulum
Year: 2025
For more than six years, this small wall stood inside Holistika without being painted. At one point, Tulum Art Club imagined it as a place for the aluxes: small guardian beings often described as childlike spirits in Maya stories.
In 2025, Kaia saw the wall and claimed it, almost as if it had been waiting for her. Her first mural shows two faces in conversation, with words floating between them in different languages.
Kaia grows up moving between six languages. On this wall, those different sounds become one shared message: The Language of Love.
What to notice: the small scale of the wall compared to the rest of the route; the two faces facing each other, as if the wall were holding a conversation; the words floating between them in different languages; the way language becomes image, not just text; the idea that this wall waited for years before finding its voice.
